The Eastern Market Corporation approached me to tell the story of several farmers who have been selling at Eastern Market for many years. The goal was to showcase the farmers' hard work throughout the decades, seasons and weeks that it takes to get their products to market. The story follows 4 farmers – John with J&M Farm in Berlin Township, Brendan with Bielat Greenhouses in Richmond, and Erin and Magnetic with Nurturing Our Seeds in Detroit. Farming looks different and means something different to each of them, but Eastern Market and the passion for what they do is their common thread. This video was created to show at Eastern Market’s annual “Harvest Gala” to connect the donors and sponsors in the audience to the farmers who make the market possible each week.

Eastern Market has been selling produce to Detroiters since 1891 with the mission of creating a “Healthier, Wealthier, Happier Detroit.” They do this through the iconic Saturday Market as well as smaller weekly markets and events to bring people throughout the city to the market.
